Martin Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I like the way you guys think....LOL.....Really !! That "first light" period is magical, and some good fish make it better. I can't have a favorite way, just whatever I've been dreaming about all night and the day before.
steveearle Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 So here is a question for everyone...and please be as specific and technical as possible. What is your favorite set up for fishing the Rock? Not necessarily your most productive, but simply your favorite way to try. Like I said, be as specific and technical as you want. Your answer can include everything from boat and motor to the hooks you put on your lure, and it can also be something you WISH you had. Have some fun... For me, it would be fishing as the sun is setting out of a big dual console Ranger Z21, throwing a Texas rigged Watermelon candy Baby Brush Hog on a 3/0 Mustad needle point with a 1/4 oz tungsten weight (just love the way a soft plastic bite feels and I always think I have a chance at a hog on the bbh). I would be throwing this on a 7ft MH G Loomis NRX with a Diawa Steez spooled with 12lb Seagar AbrazX. Hopefully a shallow bite, say less than 15ft to increase feel. I have 2 of the Steez 100 SHAs on the NRX 873 CRRs..and Core 50 Mg7s on a NRX 853 and 893 JW...Um..they are not bad... Highly recommended, to say the least My dream scenario...here goes...OK...so I'm at Lake of the Ozarks instead of Table Rock..We idle around a dock and there is a 20-ish year old girl on a swim ladder with her legs spread, bikini pulled to the side, and her boyfriend........OH WAIT!!!!..that actually happened last weekend...I miss the relative peacefullness of TRock.

abkeenan Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 3 scenarios: 1. Topwater: Spit'n Image - one comes up and misses in a huge blow up. You keep the bait going and he comes back 1-3 seconds later to crush it again and gets stuck. 2. Jerkbait: Spro McStick Norman Flake - After a few twitches and jerks, letting the bait sit for 5-10 seconds and as soon as you give it another twitch it is like a freight train ran into the end of your line. 3. Eakins/Jewel/Bass X Jig: Throwing a jig with a paca chunk trailer and before youre on the bottom you already see your line making a b line for deeper water. All three make my heart skip a beat and get that adrenalin pumpin'. -Brett
powerdive Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 It's December 22, 2012. There are no other boats on the water, nor will there ever be..............

I have heard good things but don't have one yet. As far as your experience... No comment
edwin Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I love my Core reel! I prefer the lighter weight to the Castiac's or Chronarchs I have. It's a perfect reel IMHO... "Advantages are taken, not handed out"
