Members Wormser Posted July 5, 2011 Members Posted July 5, 2011 Growing 3 Atlantic Giant variety pumpkin plants this year. Each will be allocated about 400 square feet with only one pumpkin allowed to grow on each plant…. Growing for size. Here is a 10 day old on the 1101 Marshal from Alaska taken a few days ago. It averages about 5-6 inches a night in circumference right now.
Members Wormser Posted July 5, 2011 Author Members Posted July 5, 2011 Patch shot, could definitely use more sunlight which will prevent from growing huge. 500# is my goal this year.
Members Wormser Posted July 18, 2011 Author Members Posted July 18, 2011 What is underneath the pumpkin? Mill fabric and sand to help drainage and keep rodents out from underneath. Here it is at around 130 pounds (dog wasn't happy to pose). I have another on a seperate plant growing faster and was hand pollinated 5 days behind.

(warning, this post is not fishing related) Cricket, I am glad to see you are on the road to recovery. Admittance is the first step and you are headed in the right direction. Be strong and one day you will be able to post about fishing only. Oh, and could you put your disclaimer at the top of your post, it would help us weed out the non fishing posts before we waste our time, which is too valuable, on such posts. K thanks. I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. The latest Trout Commander blog post: Niangua River Six Pack

K thanks. No, I won't. That's why I put it in the gardening section. And to waste more of YOUR time, this is what 1200 pounds of pumpkin looks like.
Flysmallie Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 I think TC was actually talking to Cricket. They have this little thing...call it puppy love if ya want. That's some big pumpkins. Very cool.

I did okay for only getting 5 hours of light a day. The WR is 1810 pounds.
