Members Hef Posted July 9, 2011 Members Posted July 9, 2011 I live in Nixa and love to fish standing timber for crappie in the summer, the hotter the better. I want to give Pomme a shot and have heard Bolivar Landing would be a good place to launch. Would this put me close to some good standing timmber? Not sure the best route to take out of Nixa, could someone help me out with directions? Thanks alot. I absolutely love living here, between the lake, river and stream fishing it sure makes the decision tough where to fish. All I need now is more time! Floated the Buffalo last week and caught some nice smallies, what a beautifuel place. If you see a maroon and peweter Triton with a Merc 150 on back that's me, stop by and say hello Thanks again
Dutch Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 At Bolivar landing you can go up river and do some long pole dipping clear up to and above the cave hole. You can go into stinkin creek and just below to get into timbered coves depends on what you want. You can also launch at Lightfoot about 5 miles down stream and get to timbered coves arount Pt. marker 8.
oneshot Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 I would come up 65 HWY,turn West at Louisburg on 64 HWY and go to Pittsburg Park, put in there fish Lindley Arm lots of brush piles. You might want to check out Stockton Lake too. oneshot
shockley32 Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Tremendous number of trees around Bolivar landing and most of them are good for crappie fishing. You can go up river and fish all kinds of trees, however be extremely careful or you'll be looking for a new lower unit! If you head towards the dam you won't go far and you'll see trees on both your right and left, both hold fish. You can also put in at Nemo, go left out of the cove and you'll run into a lot of trees at Haverstick cove, great place to fish in the summer and fall. You'll find trees from there for nearly the next mile on the east bank - you can fish Haverstick, Baily and Turner cove plus all the trees in between! Good luck on your endeavors and let us know how it goes! Brad Have your visited Limitville lately?
