Zack Hoyt Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 I am looking forward to some of the big names it will bring in. Shows, classes, etc. This should really be a huge shot in the arm for the FLW as well. Zack Hoyt OAF Contributor Flies, Lies, and Other Diversions
denjac Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 We dont have any tackle stores in Joplin since the tornado. Acadamy gone, Southtown gone. Oh we do have a walmart but why bother. Members timr0123 Posted August 1, 2011 Members Posted August 1, 2011 I'm with you Dennis. One never realizes what you have until it's gone. I've been to Springfield to many times in the last two months! I had to come back through Springfeild fromTable Rock Wednesday just to get five packs of worms. Probably cost me as much in gas as it did for the worms. I could have ordered them, but wouldn't had have them for the next day. They are rebuilding Academy though. I haven't heard about Southtown. Have you?
On The Fly 6 Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Ive only ever been to one Cabelas, and that was the head quarters in....Nebraska?? I forgot. I liked the store and I liked their fly fishing section better than BPS. I didn't talk to anyone, but there are a few guys at the BPS in Broken Arrow that actually fly fish and keep up with whats going on with the local tailwaters. I think it will be a boost to the local economy, but with Mclellans Fly Shop being 10 mins from my house...Ill probably just keep giving them my money....because they always have what I want/need!
