Wayne SW/MO Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 It would be fine. The only exception would be if you fish the late fall run and target the big fish. Some of them are pretty healthy. Overall I would think you would enjoy it because most throw 16's and smaller. . Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Members jasperflyfisher Posted August 3, 2011 Members Posted August 3, 2011 I use a 6' 3Wt all the time when wading. No real need to cast a long distance. Makes for a better fight. Use some strong leader material and hold on! I do bring my 5/6 in the fall though.
Micheal Kyle Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 I have always used my 7.'9" 3 wt Winston LT at night it is a blast and you should have 0 problems using a 3wt. Have fun and catch a bunch To Know People Is To Know Thier Ways!
