Members Conman64 Posted August 8, 2011 Members Posted August 8, 2011 Can you get a boat back to the bridge this time of year? Would it be worth trying? PP/McCracken same thing
Dutch Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Pom is at power pool so if you know where the channel is then it is good to go.
DChance Posted August 9, 2011 Author Posted August 9, 2011 oh ok. Not sure "mine" are big enough to try it at normal pool. I have the path but even 6ft high there were spots that were 6-8ft. How is right across from bolivar landing? I think it is possum hollow??? or possum something maybe?

Jbrant Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 OK... what about bass in August? Im heading down this weekend, anyone have any advice??? Chris I'm heading down too. Just looked at the Regatta Permits and it looks like it will be a busy weekend down there - lots of tournaments this weekend.
Dutch Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 If the weather clears a bit, I plan to go Thurs. If I get out I'll post up.
MOPanfisher Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 While I don't bass fish much, one of the old tried and true methods in late summer on Pomme with the huge schools of small shad around is to throw crawdad crankbaits to the shore at any log or stump in the water. I guess they just want something that doesn't look like a shad.
Dutch Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Found Pom tough today. Caught less than a dozen. Wire baits were best, no color dominated. Boats on most places I wanted to fish (more than Table Rock or Stockton). Only 1 keeper and it was on a cinnamon jig on a bluff. Next time I'm heading for the river.
Jbrant Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 We fished from about 7 to noon yesterday. Put in at Lightfoot (haven't fished this area but a couple of times). Started on a flat with lots of wood and docks that led into a small cut. Caught 4 keepers in a couple hundred yard stretch. Nothing bigger than 2 1/2. Went on up the river, hit a few random spots and kept going until we hit a lot of boats already fishing the laydowns and cover along the banks. Tried to idle past them but promptly hung on a stump and decided that was far enough. Turned around and fished a couple of cuts full of trash/laydowns, and a couple of other spots heading back towards the ramp. Found one more 2 1/2 pound keeper on another flat with laydowns and docks. Ended with 5 keepers that went around 8. Lots of small baitfish in the river, water temps were around 83. Caught our keepers on a crankbait, 10" worm, and tube.
Dutch Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Did you go beyond the docks on the right a couple of miles above the Bolivar Landing?
