I have heard the WD-40 but we used to always use Preparation-H. As for the regs on children having a license to trot, jug, limb or whatever I kinda like it, you don't just get an extra 30 hooks for free and a full limit as well for 3 or 4 kids in the boat, but hey if you have that many and they all are up to code then shoot yeah throw out some 120 or more hooks and get your limits if you want, you paid the fees, obeyed the laws and are entitled to take what you are legally allowed.

Another trick you can do with the hotdog is Stick uncooked spaghetti cross ways in it. Give a quick boil if you want. It will give the dog some life with the squirming legs. That is if you set lines on a river. Doesn't work as good in dead water.

WD40? Your post didn't seem like a joke, but spraying WD40 on your bait sure sounded like a joke to me. So I did a google search and sure enough people do it. Have you had good luck using WD40?

Jim, glad you did the search because it does work. If you google uses for wd40 you will be surprised at the uses for that stuff. we also use anise oil on the hotdogs and let them sit in the fridge for weeks to soak it in. garlic oil works to but the wd is about the best. It is made from fish oil and its works great for juggin. You don't need deep droppers on jugs to catch fish. cats are up in the water column feeding on bait and they smell the wd on the hotdogs. It sounds crazy but it works.

Frederick, I agree with you on the gar post but we have killed them and cooked them. Hard to clean but they are great eating. we were at an old farmers place hunting turkey one year and went fishing after shooting time. the farmer and his wife fished with us and kept all the gar they caught. he cleaned them with tin snips and fried them in fresh ground hog corn. best fish i ever ate.
