hank franklin Posted August 7, 2011 Author Posted August 7, 2011 I meant to put a little explanatory note on them. Steve I (I believe) posted some 11-pt gravel bar pics that got me thinking I oughta share some of mine. All pics from 2011. Lyrics of little ditty interspersed between pics.
Gavin Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Looks like some darn good times Hank!...great family fun.
Guest Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Great post. There is nothing like waking up to the sound of flowing water.
Al Agnew Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 That's one reason I'm flying back to Missouri at the end of August...to get in a few days and nights on the river. I love relaxing on the gravel bar once the tent is set up and supper has been eaten, feeling the air get cooler and watching the last glow of sunset fade. I love lying in the tent, listening to whippoorwills and the nighttime insects and maybe the deep hoot of a great horned owl. I love waking up in the morning and clambering out of the tent to mist and fog, hearing the first birds tentatively singing, and then watching the sun start to catch the top of the bluff across the river. And I love starting out the day of fishing and floating, not at an access where other people are shouting and splashing and banging canoes, but just me and the river, far from bridges and boat ramps.
