I just returned from a week long fishing trip on gunn lake in Minnesota. I had a blast. Only caught 3 northern pike but the bass fishing was outstanding. Caught my daily limit(6) every morning. The bass on average weren't as long as here but were all chunks and fought harder than the ones here. I did catch one 19" and then one monster...21" 6lbs. Man he was fat and fought harder than any bass I have ever caught. Every fish I caught was on a buzzbait or topwater frog. (except the crappie) all in all had a blast. Would like to hear of anyone else who has fished up north.

Glad to hear of your trip!

I'm planning on making many trips up north to Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan when I retire. I love it up there!

21" is a monster, post pics if you can!

Yeah, I am trying. I loved it up there. The lake we were on did have many big pike or walleye but some nearby lakes had monsters. I can't wait to go back.

We lived in Intl Falls for about ten years and loved the smallmouth fishing there! We never left to head down to Gunn Lake. We hated the northern pike when I lived there as they messed up your tackle and were not crappie, smallmouth or walleye. Of course the smallmouth messed up your tackle pretty good too, but we never complained!
