Greg
Russ Thanks for the tip about the black beetle fly. I didn't have the supplies to tie a black beetle but I tied a few simple # 12 black foam ants and they worked great. My wife and I had a blast catching them on top at on that fly at Bennett today. We had planned to go to Taney but they were already cranking up the generators mid morning so we headed to Bennett. We had a really good day at Bennett as usual. Kansas Fly Fisher
I've heard that they were going to build a cleaning station similiar to the ones at Roaring River. I thought they said it would be this season. I guess not. Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
Rusty
I think they are busy building extra camping pads for trailers right now? At least that is what it looked like in Zone 3. We drove all over the park since it was our first time there, and they were doing alot of work in the area next to old wood bridge.
snagged in outlet 3
Hey Russ I'll give you a heads up when we head down. Tell your brother I didn't do anything. But I always like seeing somebody fall in the water. I did it on my last trip to Taney. Scratched my shin real bad. I told my buddy if he wasn't there I would have cried. Those guys went down that hole in the middle of winter. Brrrrrrr.... Snagged.
mizzouflyfisher
My uncle dove the spring on New Year's Day a few years ago. Said it was pretty cool. They had trout eating cheese paste off of their face masks. As for winter C&R, definately the best time down. I've had some awesome days fishing dries, and the size of the fish is typically much better. Caught my biggest rainbow ever (28") a couple weeks into C&R a few years ago. snagged in outlet 3
Thanks wayne. We are in St. Louis so it is an easy drive to Bennett. R.R. would double our drive time. I've never checked out RR but read your's and others reports. I'll have to try it sometime when I'm at Taney. Snagged.
Wayne SW/MO
Don't you think the salmon streams out west look unsightly when the salmon die after the spawn, This is part of the biology of that area, its really not part of Bennett, and neither are Trout. Lets face it, the guts are garbage. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
