This is part of the biology of that area, its really not part of Bennett, and neither are Trout.

Lets face it, the guts are garbage.

HMMmm. Ok, let me get this right. You are arguing that guts are not part of the bilolgy of Bennett therefore are garbage. You also argue that trout are not part of the biology of Bennett therefore they (trout) must also be garbage?? Is this correct? :(

Just pestering you Wayne. :D

Seriously the guts issue has never bothered me. As you pointed out trout are not natural to the river and they are especially not natural in the numbers there are in there. I think the guts actually help the resource by feeding the trout. I dont think putting them all in one location is a good answer because that would not only create a mess it would also attract a large portion of the avialable fish to one small area. JMHO

I would rather be fishin'.

On the get together....

Some of us are probably going to be in the woods in late October and early November.I am going to be thats for sure.I leave for firearms season on the Thursday before the second Saturday in November.

I think a weekday while the keep season is still going would be best.If not, a Sunday or Saturday after it gets a little cooler would work also.

I just need a couple of weeks to put in for vacation days.

As for the cleaning station: I sent an email to Weaver's Tackle store, located just outside the park, and here is what they had to say:

The Hatchery Manager stopped by for a visit a week or so ago, and we asked about the cleaning station. It is still "in progress", but the engineer who is designing it has been pulled off the project for a "higher priority" job.

While it is still in the plans, there is now no estimated time for construction (at first, it was going to be completed by March 1 of this year). Apparently, there is some disagreement between the Dept. of Natural Resources and the Missouri Dept. of Conservation as to how the waste will be handled.

That's all we know at this time . . . the hatchery manager believes it will still happen, it's just a matter of when and also dependent upon the resolution of the waste question and releasing the design engineer to get back to work on the project.

Let us know if you need more information or have more questions.

Hope this helps a bit.
