ollie
Well, it was a fast trip because the fishing wasn't that great! Got on the water about 6:30-7 in the morning and was hoping for a little topwater action, but that didn't happen. Fished that for awhile until I got tired of nothing but bluegill hitting it! Switched to a green lizard and starting picking up some smallies right off the bat. Biggest was only about 14" and the rest were all dinks. All but this one who took the lizard like a champ. Couldn't beleive it took the hook in the mouth! First time for me catching a carp on a plastic. I threw it upstream where some current was and BAM it was on! I'm guessing the weight to be around 10 pounds. My line was screaming and I had the drag set pretty hard too. It was the best fun of the morning. I only stayed out until around 10. I thought it would be a little cooler out, but it didn't happen. Oh well, still had fun. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek! Buzz
That would be a surprise. Last year while floating Shoal Creek I had one of Dylans friends in my canoe and he cast a small crankbait up against a big line of moss and a 4lb. carp just smacked the crap out of it as soon as it hit the water. I was surprised to see it and the boy was thrilled. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
