Members Matt Henry Posted August 30, 2011 Members Posted August 30, 2011 I was talking with a couple of guys who claimed they were catching huge Bluegil on point 9 in 30 feet of water on the gravel flat near the opening of the White River. Are these fish there all summer long? What bait would you use on an ultra-light rod, live crickets? Small jigs? Matt Henry
junkman Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I have caught a couple of nice ones lately but not at that depth. caught one on a rage craw and another on a yum lizard. Seem to look like they were hungry. might try night crawlers or small minnows for they might do the trick as well.
abkeenan Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I would say crickets would be your best bet. You will also catch some random bass and catfish mixed in on them as well.
CaptainJoe Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Dropshot crickets works for me. Captain Joe Hreha Owner of MO Fenchbulldogs.com; Captain Joe's Guide Service (Retired); OAF Contributor; & Captain, U. S. Marine Corps (Retired) http://www.mofrenchbulldogs.com
