Members The Kayak Kid Posted September 9, 2011 Author Members Posted September 9, 2011 You sure they just weren't Goggle Eye (Rock Bass)? Positive. Caught enough redeyes to recognize them, even when they're in the water. That's why I'm so darn curious. The ones I saw were close to the canoe, that I got a good look at them. Didn't see any color, 'cept black. "There are some who can live without wild things and some who cannot." — Aldo Leopold RiverStamps™ - vinyl decals for your kayak or canoe
Al Agnew Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Sure they weren't smallmouth? Lots of times you'll see small smallmouth that look almost totally black in the water. I've even caught a couple (though usually for some reason I can't catch them when they have the black coloration). By the time you get them in (just a few seconds because they are always small fish) they are already beginning to lighten. I've never gotten a good picture of one that was that black.
Members kbbgood Posted June 7, 2012 Members Posted June 7, 2012 Anyone try floating this strech of water in a inflatable pontoon? Just wondering if I will be pulling it half way down the river.
