Members evnrude18 Posted September 6, 2011 Members Posted September 6, 2011 Spent the evening and some of the night before the storm in Price Branch Saturday night, dropping minnows in 15 - 20 feet off downed trees and piles. Fished from 7:45 - 11:15 with 20 total crappie caught, 14 the kept. Largest was 16 inches. Also caught a 16" largemouth bass on a minnow with the ultra-lite. Fun times! Happy fishing!
straw hat Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Good crappie trip Evinrude 18! That 16"er is a hog!! Thanks for the report.
Members evnrude18 Posted September 7, 2011 Author Members Posted September 7, 2011 The bite was on, as long as there was some wind. Once or twice for a period 5 - 10 minutes the wind shut off. And so did the bite. That 16"er was a good fight on my ultra lite. Thought maybe it was another bass until it got closer to the surface. SURPRISE! Wish the rain wouldn't have ran us off the water, my brother loves to go up and fish there and I take him when he gets the chance to. It's kind of nice to take some time away from bass fishing and hook into a few white sides every now and then. Good to mix it all up once and a while!
