Brian Wise Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Ok guys, Consider this a call for a lynch mob. I wanted to make sure these fish were going to be staying in the same area for a while before I started throwing out coordinates but, guys, we counted 42 stripers in the hole above McKee bridge. These fish have been there for well over a month and it doesn't look like they are going anywhere (besides hopefully a few freezers.) The weird thing is they are hanging on river left and staying, for the most part, on the left side of the channel. We have fished to them a TON with only a couple of follows during the day.....but we had a spin-fishing trip go out and get the whole pod to follow a rattle trap. SICK 'EM...and forget how to Catch & Release. Brian My Youtube Channel

Justin Spencer Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Artificials only yes, they won't hit live bait anyway (or so I hear). Where's plexlove maybe he could go grabbing for gar up there! Flysmallie Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Where's plexlove maybe he could go grabbing for gar up there! Yeah I think he was imprisoned for his last unsuccessful gar grabbing adventure. Have you guys tried using a live trout as bait. I hear they really like those. Â Â
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted September 8, 2011 Root Admin Posted September 8, 2011 Sounds like a challenge to me... I'm up for it. Soon as I get home, I'll make plans. What's the average size you think? What's the easiest way to get to them- I know by boat but where do you put in?
FishinCricket Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 How would I go about getting to MCKee bridge by land? And is there a boat launch area? cricket.c21.com
sean c Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 How would I go about getting to MCKee bridge by land? And is there a boat launch area? I am pretty sure McKee bridge itself is private. Kelly ford is about 1 mile above McKee bridge that would be your closest upstream access. Also if a guy was going strictly for these stripers you could put in at Kelly and take out at ROLF(I would guess for a fee) be around two miles or so.
