OKFlyFisher44 Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 To all the Missouri parents on here... When is your Fall Break? Trying to iron out a fishing trip in October and would like to avoid the Fall Break crowds. Thanks guys Chance ...I'm haunted in my dreams of waters I have yet to fish and trout I have yet to catch... Chasing the Dream...
RSBreth Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 To all the Missouri parents on here... When is your Fall Break? Trying to iron out a fishing trip in October and would like to avoid the Fall Break crowds. Thanks guys There really aren't "Fall Break" crowds anywhere I've seen - most fair weather fishing people (which is almost all fishing people) have already hung up the rods and stuff by October. Taney will be busy on the weekends - fall break or not - everywhere else not so much.
eric1978 Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 There really isn't a fall break at all, except for a couple days around Thanksgiving. A week at Chrismas, then spring break. That's about it, at least in my wife's district.
Dutch Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 People with kid tend to leave the lake after Labor Day and don't come back till Memorial Day. You should look up fall turkey season and go at the first of it. There will be hundreds of guys in the woods and a lot of them usually are on the water.
ozark trout fisher Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Yep. All the rivers I fish are fairly empty by the end of October and mostly stay that way until March. The parks and the first 3 or 4 miles of the Current below Montauk are exceptions. The fishing really gets going about late December or January when we get our first real intense cold front and the weather is so cold that it chases most people off of even those streams. Those conditions pretty much account for all the park fishing I do anymore.
