Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted September 5, 2006 Root Admin Posted September 5, 2006 I just searched google and didn't find anything... has anyone else seen anything to varify this?
gonefishin Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I havent heard anything about it. If it is true; that is one big Hybrid. Be about like catching a Mack Truck. I would rather be fishin'. Bill B. Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 I checked with the MDC a couple of weeks ago. They hadn't heard anything.

strangercreek Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Kansas state record is 22.39. Perry Lake spillway on a jig. Last summer. Lots of big Wipers in NE Kansas lakes.
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 There are 2 hybrids, based on the gender of the parents and I believe one gets a lot larger then the other. They have specific names, but they escape me at the present. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Most hatcheries do it the other way around. Is that what you mean?
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Well I had to look. It seems the Palmetto Bass is a Striper egg fertilized with White bass sperm. The opposite is the Sunshine Bass, White Bass egg, etc. Apparently the Palmetto is the most popular, but I didn't find anything suggesting that one grew faster or larger than the other. The World Record, according to the Kansas site, is 27 lbs 5 ozs. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
