That's fine. Should I come by Friday night or Saturday morning? I can make a stop Friday night if that would be best, I should find your place beforehand anyway.

10 pointer the event went well except the rain and cold weather we had a good turn out. The winners of the Prizes were. Bruce Henning, Alan Blattel, Jon Hesskamp, Dave Reed, Dave Oldham, Tom Willis, Mark Blaylock, A.J. Snelson, Austin Nieman, Bill Traw, Nick Erlacker, Kevin Cole, Madison Cole. Bill Traw was the overall big winner with a Pair of Korker Boots and The Elk River Rod total $400.00.

Fish numbers were a little low with Austin Nieman catching the most. He caught 23 trout one brown over 20" and several Bows at 19". He was using a flashback dropper. but every winner won over $150.00 in prizes. We raised over $2000.00 for the lung association. We had only one angler who said he was from the OAF.

The weather and the time of year may have worked against us and we are trying to figure out if it would be something to continue next year. Everyone in the event said the had a ball and was looking forward to being in it next year. And by the way all the anglers said the pretty much had the river to themselves all day, and no one was hogged out of a fishing spot that were not in the event. We were a little disappointed in the catch on the brown trout. But not surprised because of the numbers that were removed from the Blue Ribbon section during the hot weather.

Had a great time. Weather wasn't great, rained almost non-stop from about 4:30 AM until we left at 5 pm. But in my "group" I'd say fishing was excellent. My (experienced) partner caught 30 fish before I even brought one to hand, including a 20 inch brown and some rainbows in the 18 inch range.

The drawing was at 5 and everyone won more than one prize. I'm sure the hosts would have liked more people to sign up and participate, but you've gotta start somewhere (I know too well from experience).

I was really impressed with the shop at Reed's. A huge selection of bugs, tools, fly tying materials, just about everything really, knowledgeable people, and very competitive prices.

We left early since it was a virtual guarantee there would be no respite from the rain and we were camping.

I'll be back at some point.

Glad that some fish were landed, congrats to the teams. A little bit surprised they hit in the rain, haven't ever fished a stream in the rain, lakes yes.

I can't speak for the rivers, but I assume it is the same as creeks. A steady rain will oxgenate the water and cause the trout to become more active. Plus it breaks up stillness of the water making approachs easier.

The event was a lot of fun. Thanks for hosting it. I really hope you guys do it again next year and even more people show up ... I felt a little guilty going home with over $200.00 in attendance prizes. It was great meeting other people who fish the Current and getting to fish with Arofishing. He's a great guy and a good fisherman. The fishing was excellent in the morning, I caught close to 30 fish between 8:00 and 1:00. After it started raining hard the fish seemed to shut down a little bit but I still managed to catch 8 more before 4:00. The highlight of the day was a 20" brown, 19" rainbow, and a couple around 18". I also lost another 20" brown and a 20" rainbow. Overall I would say the fishing was really good. I'll try to attach a couple pictures of the bigger fish later today.

Arofishing check your PM.

Sounds logical, just like fishing the riffles, helping to hide the angler. Have to file that for the future.
