I am going to make the trip down from KC this weekend. I will be night fishing friday and saturday nights, generation pending. Feel free to stop by and say hello. I drive a black F-150 with catch and release tags.

I will also be fishing as much as possible during the days so feel free to stop by and talk shop.

I plan on being down there as well this weekend doing some day & night fishing (generation pending???)

"There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home."

I will be down on friday night as well. May have to fish 2 units, as that has been the norm for the past week or better.

YeahI noticed they have been running it a bit for the past 6 days or so. Hopefully the cool weather this weekend will drop the demand.

Man, I haven't fished Taney in months--before the flooding--and it's been a long while since I've been night fishing. I've been jonesing for a trip down there for a while, but I want to hit it during the day because I haven't seen what the new channels are like since the flooding (other than Phil's updates).

Well just come on down Aaron. How have you been? Check the charts for nighttime, 24 hr generation the past several days.

I don't think they've been running the water because of power demand. If I remember right, last fall they ran the water like this- 25-40 mw 24 hours. They have bumped it up a couple of times this week late in the day because of power demand-yes- but look at the DO level chart. When the water is off, the o2 plummets. When it's running, they're pumping liquid o2 into the turbine and the water is livable. I think they may be running it for the fish's sake. I'll check with my Corp guy and see if I can find out.

Thanks Phil, let us know what you hear. At the end of august, the fish had no signs of low o2 when the water was off. This unexpected generation has me puzzled.

I will always give up something for the sake of the health of the fishery. If that means this trip will have some limited wading possibilities, I am still game. 25MW is still fairly wadeable. It isn't ideal but it beats flood gates by a long shot. I might yard practice my roll casting heavy glow in the dark indicators just in case.

And why is the projected generation chart always so delayed on the days I am debating on driving down or not?!?! It is a conspiracy.

Do they do this early fall generation to start drawing down the lake for winter? Seems like they generate quite a bit during September and October, even if it's a few units. I can handle wading in half a unit, I'd just like to be a bit more familiar with the new lay-of-the-land before traipsing around at dark.

Speaking of drawdown, I was glad to see that Table Rock FINALLY got down to power pool level a few days ago.
