This will be my first fall here and I would love some advice on catching some walleye on TR. I plan on going tues or weds next week. I am taking a novice and it needs to be pretty simple. I would love to have him catch a few..I plan on fishing the dam area just because I "think" there should be some around the rocks..All Advice welcome

Usually this time of year we catch them in the 35-40 foot range, trolling Reef Runners on braid and shad cranks on leadcore. They've been shallower than usual this year, though--in the 18-26 foot range most of the time. That's all I can give you, other than to fish breaklines that are well off shore. Haven''t been out lately. Best to cruise likely areas and study sonar--look for shad near bottom with lots of fish activity nearby, then fish through it, regardless of the depth you find it. A spoon or jig'n'twister might get ya some.

Powerdive has shared some righteous advice. I fish the other end of the lake so I can't share spots, but I will chime in that in the absence of rocky reefs and weed lines, they will often suspend just outside of tree lines. If the points and saddles don't produce for you find a bluff with drowned cedar and troll the suggested depths just outside the timber, especially at the bluff ends or where the channel swings away from the bluff.

This summer the cranks working best for me were white with blue or purple. In past years I have caught a lot of fish on firetiger.
