Just had Freddies for the first time last week. It was good, but we've got a local joint, Winstead's, that serves that same style (smashed) hamburger, ice cream, etc. I'd rather patronize the local guy whenever possible.

Yeah, been to Winsteads. I don't know it's still there but the one on the Plaza was there in the 50's. I have no idea how long Winsteads has been around.

We don't have a lot of local available, unless we want to fight the mob of people.

Of course one never knows. My grandson talk me into stopping at Backyard for one of the best. I agreed it was near the top. Two weeks later I decided to try it again, the burger was obviously old and reheated and ranked as one of the worst for me, so never been back.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Yeah -- the original Winstead's is still there. Not sure when they opened. We eat there every holiday season as a tradition. There are 3-4 more around town.

Dana's, Billy Bob's, Blue Man Grill are all locally owned places in Branson for a great burger, and more. I don't know about the burgers at the Farmhouse Restaurant across the street from Branson cafe, never had one. but the fried chicken, chicken fried steak, pot roast, and all you can eat whole catfish on weekends are all great!!!

Where is blue man grill?

On the Hwy 76 strip across the street from Krispy Kreme, and the big stupid looking chicken in front of the place that sells over priced, crappy food!

Why did the big chicken cross the street?....To get some good food at the Blue Man Grill!!!

That's why I've never heard of it, bad location.

Not all that bad. You should know how to get around most of the Branson traffic on the strip. Coming from Wildwood Dr. it's just a short distance on the strip.

I have a rule, avoid any part of the strip between new 65 and 165. The landing stands alone as an area to avoid. I lift the rule between November and February. If forced I will travel between Fall Creek road and 65 sometimes.

Good rule.
