Members Jross Posted September 20, 2011 Members Posted September 20, 2011 I will be staying at the Lakeside Resort on Coney Island this weekend, any help on where the good fishing spots would be i would highly appreciate it. It will be 8 of us total going and we are hoping for some topwater action.
Martin Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Since nobody has replied, I will say....I have no current fishing report or info on any of the lake, but I'll bet there are people that don't recognize "Coney Island"... For those people that may have a report, Coney Island is between points 6 & 7 over on the flat side...Jross, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm sure someone will report in here soon, but I'm not your guy at the moment...I just, plain, haven't been out.

Champ188 Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 My guess is things are getting a little quiet here because of the upcoming BASS Central Open. Starting to see the usual increase in new members that tends to accompany such derbies.
Martin Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Ahh yes Champ... I forgot about the tournament...WELL, 'coney Island" IS south and east of Kimberling, so...the flat side between point 6 & point 7 is correct. FIRST thing I would do Jross is get a lake map...lol... You're asking for info about an area nobody recognizes. Get a map and talk point numbers. I have no idea how far you want to run, but you're in the "lower lake", not too far from the dam in one direction, and not too far from Kimberling in the other direction. Get a lake map and memorize it.
Champ188 Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Actually, there are two big derbies coming up. FLW Stren Series is here Oct. 6-8, then BASS Central Open is Oct. 20-22. No telling what all will be going on with local tourneys in between and on top of the two biggies.

We stayed at Chateau on the Lake in May when the water was extremely high and we did mostly texas rigging, so we were hoping to find an area with a better topwater bite. Thanks for the help

Thanks for the help I would say either area you will beable to find top water fish. I would choose kimberling city area just because I have had better luck there. Zara spooks on main lake points and flat gravel points should get you bit early. Wind is usually key in this time of year so remeber that. If you go back in some creeks you can catch them on a crankbait, and hopefully really soon a buzzbait. Hope this helps
