dgames Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Speaking of high end rods, I went to the TulsaFlyfishers meeting last night. Bob Nunley ( http://www.rlnunley.com/ ) was the presenter and did a really good job. Bob builds some pretty incredible looking bamboo rods. I was amazed at the precision in his craftsmanship. I can clearly see why these are high dollar. I would love to have one, but could never afford one.
Jason R. Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Its a take home final HogLaw... when youre a 3l you take the path of least resistance sometimes. But Doug sent me some suggestions on that Batson blank, I've never built an MHX so maybe I will try one next time. I'm goin for a green theme- ie green blank, green accents, green reel seat, mini fighting butt etc. Should look cool with my 6wt reel and will be an improvement over my Redington- which is too fast for my casting style. PS- If anyone needs a Redington CPX 9'6 6wt- I would let it go for a good price. http://flyinthesouth.com/
hoglaw Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 There's a lot to be said for the path of least resistance. That was always Steve Sheppard or Janet Flaccus for me. At least Steve's classes were interesting though. Man I miss law school. I was shooting in the 70's and fishing about ten times as much as I do now. Enjoy it while you can.
