Kansas Fly Fisher Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 What about grub. I do believe in eating when fishing. Are we going to grill something, or do we need to BYOF. If we cook, it doesn't need to be a ten course meal. Meat and meat will work for me. I'm game for cooking. I agree with something simple. Hotdogs, hamburgers, etc. Or, we could eat at the lodge if that was acceptable. Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
gonefishin Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 We are going trout fishing so why dont we eat trout? Of course we would have to hijack someone to cook them. Maybe get some of the guys to bring their girlfriends. I would rather be fishin'. "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. NoLuck Posted August 31, 2006 Author Posted August 31, 2006 I like to eat trout but they are a little too much preparation to do at the park,at least the way I like em. I think burgers and hotdogs and brats will do just fine.I'll bring a package of each and some chips.I'll bring along my small smokey joe grill too. I don't drink alchol,so I'll bring some soda and water too. Looking forward to a great day. Talk at yaaall later. Rich
Wayne SW/MO Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 If you're going to cook, the area north of the whistle might be the best spot. It doesn't seem to be as busy as the Spring area, probably because it cost more. It has better bathrooms too. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Rusty Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Unless some good mojo happens, I have to back out at this time. Have fun.

If we were to have to eat what we catch I am sure some of us, probably me, would get hungry. I am looking forward to this. Meeting some of the people I talk to on here should be a blast. Kansas Fly Fisher Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Just another thought, I'm going to bring a few of my tying tools and materials. If the fishing isn't that good,or the weather doesn't cooperate, maybe an impromtu tying session would work. Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
duckydoty Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 I'm gonna try and jump in on this one. 10:30 swimming pool parking lot sounds good. Should we bring something to cook like a pot luck kind of thing? Brats, burgers, dogs, pork steaks, ribs? Duckydoty A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. NoLuck Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 Hello Duckydoty, I think we should wait and see exactly how many of us are going to make it.Then we can figure out how much stuff we need to bring.Lets get a complete head count then go from there a week or so ahead of the 25th. I like the idea of bringing along some fly tying gear as I'm not yet involved with tying myself YET!!I just recently got back into fly fishing this year and I am head first into it.I Planned on taking some tying lessons over the winter at a local fly shop. Take care. Rich
NoLuck Posted September 18, 2006 Author Posted September 18, 2006 Hello people, Its only one week till the gathering. Lets get a final count as to who will be there, and lets get some idea of who is bringing what. I have a small smokey joe grill and I can bring brats and hot dogs.Just let me have an idea of how many.We probably will need a couple more small grills or one big one.I'll also bring along a twenty pound bag of charcoal and starter as well. Lets get this rolling!!! I've been excited about this for 2 weeks now. Rich
