Billfo Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 When thinking about burning a spinnerbat just under the surface, can an angler actually retrieve a spinnerbat faster than a Bass can swim ? Just curious......... Email me Red-Right-Returning is for quitters !
RSBreth Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 You can retrieve a spinnerbait faster than a Bass can swim... if you are in a boat on plane when you are casting. Seriously - you can't retrieve a spinnerbait faster than a Bass can swim, but you sure can retrieve it faster than they want to hit it - but most people fish too slow versus too fast. I like to burn it, then tone it down if that doesn't work.
Al Agnew Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 I've seen bass swim fast enough to catch up with a jig I was burning in at full speed for the next cast...in the winter when they are suppposed to be sluggish!
