I will second yo on that Duck, me and a good friend from KC fished pretty hard at Cape Fair yesterday and Long Creek today and had some of the worst fishing I have experienced on Table Rock. Threw a jig yesterday and caught a few and had some good bites but fish aren't eating a jig at all. Thew warts, and a Rip bait for a while to nothing fish are not active at all. Spoon'd a few docks and lost a decent fish. Today we did a lot of the same down at Long Creek and had a rough day. I was graphing a lot of fish right in the channel in creek arms but they won't eat a dang thing. It was pretty windy today too, seen some guys on some off shore structure, didn't tie on the drop shot but maybe should have. Just wasn't in the mood to battle the wind today.

I fished from 12 to 6 yesterday around Indian Point and only caught 7 (all blacks) but 4 were solid keepers and the 2 others would have been close if it mattered. I had 3 other bites but didn't hook up. 1 blade rod on deck and just ran from windy pocket to windy pocket....both main lake and creek. I was pretty happy considering how tough it has been but hopefully it gets better soon.

I was out yesterday and fished from 2:30pm until 5:30pm. I fished around State Park (bluffs), Big Cedar (gravel points with timbers) and up around point 1 (gravel points with timber). I fished in the wind everywhere I could and only got one largemouth on a jerkbait. He was right up on a bluff wall and was maybe 13". I tried the grub in the same areas and couldn't get any takers from the bank out to 30' of water.

Well if you regulars are having a tough time, I suppose I will wait to decide when to come down. I thought by now there would be a change. Please keep us informed about any changes. What are you finding as far as shad and water temps where you are fishing if I may ask? Thanks

63-65 just about everywhere I fished and the bait was hard to find for me...never saw any schooling fish like you usually do this time of year. I was fortunate to catch 3 blacks out of one windblown pocket or my day would have been much worse. I still love being on the water though and don't mind practice casting.

About the same for me...I was seeing a little lower temps around the dam. I would see a few minnows jump but that was it. I did see some surface activity in a calm pocket (across from the dam/point 1) but they didn't want anything I was throwing.

Same temps for me as well down to the AR line in Long Creek. Water has a lot of color in it around Cape and LC.

Will preface this by saying it's all my own experience and opinion and I do not claim it to be gospel.

For me, this ongoing funk is one situation where the blade may not shine, but it will outproduce a lot of other offerings. While what we're experiencing right now is unusual in duration, it's not uncommon for fall fishing to turn tough on TR.

Through magazines and other media outlets, we're coached to slow down when fishing gets tough. Many times that's exactly what we need to do. Other times, it's not.

IN MY OPINION, when a fish isn't feeding, you can't hardly pry open his mouth and make him eat. You can drag a jig, shaky head or other morsel in front of his nose as many times as you want and he'll likely just sit there and ignore it or turn and swim away.

However, you may be able to provoke him to lash out at a fast-moving bait that invades his space and disturbs his peace, particularly if it keeps coming back into his space. That's the reaction strike we've all heard about, and sometimes it's your best bet to catch a few fish when they just won't eat your slow-moving lures.

Like T did Sunday, you get in the wind, pick up the blade and don't put it down. Chunk and wind and make multiple casts to any likely looking piece of cover. The results can be surprising.
