edwin Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 These reports are gonna force me to pull the boat home and head to more fertile waters! That said, I'll let everyone know when I pull my boat out....as that's all it will take for the bite to take off "Advantages are taken, not handed out"

That said, I'll let everyone know when I pull my boat out....as that's all it will take for the bite to take off We voted! You need to take that boat out right this very minute! Seriously, I think this weekend might be the start of a decent Fall bite? With the front moving through and the rain forecast for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, I'm thinking it's gonna break loose a bit. Premonition or wishful thinking? But I'm gonna predict a topwater and Spinnerbait bite for Saturday and into Sunday and Monday.
edwin Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I'm heading down Sunday - Tuesday...hope you're right. "Advantages are taken, not handed out"
Chris King Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I sure hope you're right too...I'm heading out Saturday and Sunday with my son and he will hold you accountable if we don't catch anything. Â
Spinnaker Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Do you think November 14 is too late in the season to come down? How long does the fall bite really stay vigorous?
Sam Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Vigorous? From what I've been reading around here, the bass bite has been far from vigorous. I hope the bass fishing does improve soon. If it doesn't, I'm afraid I'll soon start finding $25,000 glitter-boats parked in all my crappie holes - tied up to a snag, beach umbrella in place, Patsy Cline CD playing, a bunch of slip-bobbers out, drowning minnows, one guy asleep on the deck using his bass-patches vest for a pillow........
Spinnaker Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Yes, the bite has been less than vigorous. I came down in September and again in early October and it was a great time for boating but not for bass fishing. But I am told that late fall CAN be a great time for the bass. But this year has been off norm I would say because of the extremes we have seen. But the bass do have to eat now and then and they will eat, just not where I expect them to be and not my artificial offerings. Oh well, maybe just one more try this fall.
Tfsh4bass Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Should be a promising day with the big cold front moving in. Well, you would think so but all I caught was 4 (3 smallmouth and 1 black) and had 4 other bites. All 4 were decent keeper fish...caught 2 on a blade and 2 on a jerkbait. I haven't seen many Novembers this tough in my 30yrs of fishing trock but I will keep swinging hoping it breaks loose eventually.
Spinnaker Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Tfsh4bass: Have you seen a change in the amount of boats out because of the poor fishing?
Bill Babler Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Guys lets start over and get on a page 1. this is getting to hard to wade thru. I have a full day out of the Knob tomorrow and we will start this over. HOPEFULLY I WILL HAVE SOME GOOD NEWS. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
