C&r Season At Roaring River

Buzz, I lost sight of you after I went further upstream to fish the outlets. I caught my biggest of the day upstream from the twin falls at the very first outlet. Measured 20" to the tape, but not nearly as big as some of the others caught today! I have to admit, I never caught anything smaller than 12-13" with most I caught being around the 14-15" range. I thought they did a pretty good job on the stocking this year. I found out the bigger and heavier jig at 1/16th did a better job for me catching today. I only fished two colors. Started out with an olive/brown combo and then switched over to ginger later on. The ginger is what I caught my biggest on. When I got there I started out at the very end of the park down by the old darn. I tore them up down there until I mined out that hole. I also want to say thanks for the lunch! Made for a great day since I didn't have to work!

I ended the day down at the low water bridge. After throwng big bugs all day I decided to slow down and nymph for the last hour. I caught a bunch of fish on midges and glow balls. A great way to end the day.

You guys caught some nice fish. The biggest that Jeff and I found at montauk was about 8lbs, a lot were 3 to 4lb. Congrats to all.

Caught most of my fish on attractor patterns - at least the closer to the hatchery I got. In Zone 2 I had the best luck with prince and beaver nymphs fished with 30g shot to get it down.

At the last minute today (about 8:30am)... momma decided it sounded like fun ..

Her.. her mom.. and Becca all hit the play ground for a little fun while I fished for a couple of hours..

Im still going to try for Monday..
