Members flyfisherman Posted November 20, 2011 Members Posted November 20, 2011 Called Brian at last minute to sneek a day on the river for a day. Brian was right thr river had a cloudy look but the levels where still low. The day started our a bit cold around 40 degrees but warmed to about 55 degrees. I caught three at Island one and then it slowed until Island 4 where I caught a couple of 15 inchers. The best fishing happen at shoals above Hurrican rapida and in Hurricane rapids where I caught 6 fish, two of which where 18"+. I ended the day with oneat Mary Deckers, about a dozen fish for the day and the best deal, I saw only two canoes all day.
Buzz Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Sounds like a good day. One of these days I'm gonna have to get over there. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
Brian Sloss Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 The jet up Greer spring is illegal as can be, for that matter so are canoes and kayaks and fishing in the spring. I see you found some nice smallies. Did well on the smallies myself on Sat afternoon. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
Guest Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 He didn't make it very far, and I don't know why he would even attempt it. He was in a blazer with a 25 hp on the back. If you look close at this picture, you can see the blaze orange from his vest . He didn't make it much father than this.
eric1978 Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 How far down did you float? We did Greer to Whitten Fri-Sun and had a pretty tough time.
Gavin Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Nice...I wasnt ambitious enough to haul the boat up on my last visit...Glad you had some good fishing.
