Got an email from the lakes bio stating that they had stocked 1500 hybrids in Lomond and Windsor (can't remember how the 1500 was split between the 2 lakes).

I'm not too happy with this stocking, the bio claims that the hybrids will feed on the shad that are in mid lake that the bass don't fully utilize, but I've witnessed bass feeding on shad mid-lake many times this summer. And the shad were wipred out in Lomond a couple of years ago, I can't see why you'd want a fish that feeds only on shad let loose in Lomond, what happens if the shad die off again?

We've got pretty good bass and bream fishing on these lakes, can't see the reason to introduce a new species. Why risk screwing up a good thing?

I don't understand this move, either.

There was a problem with 50lb bluecats eating all the gizzard shad???

Well if thats their only problem, then I will be glad to remove them. LOL

I think this decision goes higher up the ladder than the biologist.

I was talking to one of the guys that belongs to the BV flytyers club and he thought that the bio made this decision on his own. Kind of surprised me, you would think he would have had called a meeting to get input from fishermen as to whether or not we want those things in the lakes here.

They stocked some 7" small trout in Brittany in addition to the normal sized ones they stock. 7" trout is perfect bass candy, could be some bass getting really big in that lake.

They should take a poll from all the fisherman to determine their choice of actions.

We the people, should have a voice in these activities.

I pay to fish those lakes and dont live there.

Will I continue to pay for mediocre fisheries?? Thats something that I will take into consideration next spring..

Here is my thoughts! With beaver and grand so near both with them in it WHY? BV could have done so much better and unique, walleyr, pike, musky all would be better choices or even lunker brown trout...Fish that will draw attention and revenue
