Feathers and Fins Posted December 14, 2011 Author Posted December 14, 2011 VERY NICE https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Mr. Ed Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I'm curious how you guys duck hunt Beaver with all the houses and docks around. Do you just pick an isolated cove and set up? I'm in KC and love to come down there and fish and someday would like to have a place on Beaver. Never really thought of it to be a good place to duck hunt though. I didn't think I could get better but to be able to waterfowl hunt right on the lake sounds too good to be true.
duckydoty Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I hunt points and coves on Table Rock that do not have docks and houses too close. The ducks tend to shy away from them anyway. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
Feathers and Fins Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 You need to remember the 150 yard rule from houses and roads or i should say law.... There is actually tons of places on beaver to duck hunt and it holds large numbers of ducks and a wide diversity of birds. Last year I took: Mallards Redheads Teal ( ALL THREE SPECIES ) Canvasback Widgeon Black Duck ( not coots real black ) Ring Necks Goldeneye Scaulp Ruddy Wood Ducks Gadwall Pintail Buffle Heads Canada Geese Specks Snows Spoony ( dog made me do it ) The biggest thing and key to sucess is using LONG LINES just like you would for Divers. 30 ft of line to the first decoy and then 3 to 5 feet between each decoy 12 per string and then 30 ft off the last decoy. This allows you to set you decoys much further from shore then the average guy and opens up far more potential spots. Plus it is a fast set out and take up. There is plenty of coves and points as well as a few nice islands. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Mr. Ed Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Sounds like a lot of fun. Not a lot of ducks up here (KC area) this year... too dang dry!
