ness Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Just saw this response. Good to see you back on here, Rat. Haven't seen Kelly in a while. Elway still kinda rubs me the wrong way -- I'll leave it at that. I'm a big fan of Marino as an actor (Ace Ventura, Slimfast). Blackledge -- well, not the best color guy out there but... What about them Chiefs today??? John
KCRIVERRAT Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Very proud of my Chiefs today. Just wonderin' what might have been with a healthy team from the beginning with Crennel as head coach and Orton as QB. Cassel has a weak arm and Haley decided to buck his superiors, especially sticking with Palko. Lot of stuff remains to be seen as far as this season and the decisions that will lead into the next. The NFL is what it is. Head coaches are hired to be fired. And they sure as heck ain't hurtin' moneywise when it happens. HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
Wayne SW/MO Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Cassel has a weak arm and Haley decided to buck his superiors, especially sticking with Palko. I have a different read on both of them. Cassel, IMO, isn't an accurate passer and with the high powered DB's today you have to be able to thread the needle. I think a good example is the crossing route where he's always slightly behind the receiver which stops or eliminates any forward progress. The same can be said about swing passes, same thing, back has to stop or reverse to catch the ball. My thinking on Haley was that he was to proud of himself and was trying to introduce what he thought was innovation into a sport older than his grandfather. He knew the basics, but chose to ignore them. The bottom line though is that the whole organization should have known where they were with the QB situation. Cassel was a backup in college and they paid him like he had won the Heisman. Palko got cut in Canada for crying out loud where wannabes make the squad. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
