tried a couple of warthogs last week and they seemed to run funny. didn't get a hit and it seems at speed they kinda wanted to run crooked and flip over. anyone else tried them and did they track well. i replaced the split ring and used a clip. wondering if that was the problem. liked their looks and paint jobs . any suggestions out there.

Looks like Luck E Strike did a pretty good job duplicating the Megabass vision 110 for 7.99 and not such a good job duplicating the Storm pre-rapala wiggle wart for 3.99. Filling with water and now doing barrel rolls back to the boat on the retreive? Looks like back to the drawing board for the Warthog.

Two or three years ago, I bought a fistful of Brad's Wigglers. Other than the line attachment, you cannot tell them from the Pre Normark warts. One in three ran true from the box and most that did not were impossible to tune.

i was really excited about the warthog crank bait.....went out and bought a whole bunch when they first got to my local BPS. They seemed like the real deal...same plastic, same construction, same dull rattle. I swapped the hooks out for some sticky sharp Gammies and headed to the lake this morning to test them out. tossed the first one out beside the boat....I was pleased. nice wide wobble....looked like this dog was gonna hunt. 1 cast later....full of water. Ok, try the next one. nice wobble but full of water. Ok. This has to be a fluke. next one......water. seriously?!!? 9...count them...9 in a row full of water after 1 or 2 casts into open water.

Im pretty sure the hook hangers are the problem.seems a little ridiculous to have to epoxy the hook hangers on a bunch of brand new baits. I emailed Luck E Strike about it. Ill post what I find out when they reply.

BTW, also used the luck e strike vision 110 knock off. It worked very well without any issues at all. nice rolling action. very nice bait.

An OLD STYLE WART for less than $5 and a little EPOXY is a bargin to me!! Think I will coat the entire lure for a good tough clear coat, ;)
