conman Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 John, I had the same problem with my Maxxum 80. Turns out that the foot switch is a magnetic switch and the contact got pushed down in the sleeve to where when the foot switch was pressed it was not making contact. If you take off the round foot switch plate you will see the contact down in the sleeve, if you touch it with a metal phillips blade and it engages the motor you will know is not making proper contact. You have to take it apart and push that contact back further up into the sleeve. It was a 5 minute job and mine is back to good. Chris Hey guys got a question... I have a Minn Kota maxxum 101 pro. Last weekend it ran fine then all the sudden would stop then run again... (Looking online I found it could be the armature?) but not sure. Any advice? Could I change it myself, if so how much and where can I buy it. If not where should I take it? From Lampe area. Thanks
glennL Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 I've had problems with mine and it always came down to the "ground" wire not connected correctly. Hope that's all it is. Glenn Glenn
