Wayne SW/MO Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Amazon has since released the update that is supposed to fix a majority of the complaints it's had so far... http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2011/12/kindle-fire-update-fixes-performance-adds-privacy/ Good to know. My experience in the speed department was mixed. Within a few days of receiving mine I went to my sons to animal sit and the Fire was slow enough that I thought seriously about returning it. Back home it was fine. I then tried it at a free wifi site and again it was fine so I dismissed it as a problem with the router. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
