Sore Thumbs Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Haven't been in a couple weeks, just wanting to know if they are hitting the jerkbait hard or if crankbait is still on. Thanks!
jmes Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 I went over the holiday weekend and caught them on both, James River Arm on Crank Bait and the Cow Creek Area Jerkbait Saturday I had 7 keepers biggest around 3 1/2 Total amount of fish 14 Sunday I had 5 keepers biggest 4 1/2 Total amount of fish 11 Not exactly setting the world on fire but I had fun caught most of the fish on both days the last 1 1/2 of daylight
sfiser Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 anyone have an idea what the water temps are?
Bill Babler Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Low 50's. That is a very good report. Fish have not been biting that good. Great for you. It is taking flat nothing in the winter derbys. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Tfsh4bass Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Haven't been in a couple weeks, just wanting to know if they are hitting the jerkbait hard or if crankbait is still on. Thanks! I have been catching them pretty decent on jerkbait myself but the best bite has been from 3-5 in the afternoon...back 1/3 of creeks around swings with timber. I haven't been able to get on the main lake or bay fish all Fall but the creek bite has been steady for me. Here and there from 10-3 and then catching them really good until dark.
Sore Thumbs Posted December 28, 2011 Author Posted December 28, 2011 any color better than others right now?
Members 43acres Posted December 29, 2011 Members Posted December 29, 2011 Fished 11:30-4:30 today in the Big M area. Threw a jerkbait most of the afternoon, caught one spot. 50-52 degree water.
Tfsh4bass Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 any color better than others right now? I have been throwing a sexy shad pattern that I painted but not sure it matters late in the day. Yesterday was the same deal for me...caught 4 from 11-3 and then 13 from 3-5
Sore Thumbs Posted December 30, 2011 Author Posted December 30, 2011 I threw one a little bit on Beaver yesterday with no luck. Fished for a couple hours and caught one bass that was just over 20 inches and another over 15. Lost one that looked like the same size as the 20 incher. Caught all three on a Pre Rapala wiggle wart.
