Only one duck and it landed in the decoys way before shooting light as I was adjusting decoys and off it went. Later on geese going from place to place and my little set up they wanted nothing to do with. I knew it would only take time before the pond hopping birds would start milling around. This place is another I have been watching and birds were there yesterday so surely they would be there again? First group wanting in badly coming in low but they had to rise over the power line then a long glide into my face and I dropped two. A short wait and a trio did the same and I ruined one of there days. Picked up and headed back home. Really no place to hide so I had set up on a point and put some big foots to break up the layout. Had 2 mallards swing in early on the Rock but landed 80 yards out. 3 others buzzed by high and kept right on going. That was it. Looks like MonaChari and I are going to hunt Schell on the 2nd, camp that night, then hunt 4 rivers on the 3rd. My brother and his wife will be doing the same. Going to try and help push them birds south on the last 2 days of the middle season. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Remember I am close and if you need anything while camping give us a ring. I am thinking I may take Pat to a pond that has been resting for three weeks. It isn't close to the road so I don't know if it is being used or not. If not I have a bunch here you can have if you can't find any. I even deliver. I know they let you pick up dead wood around the campgrounds but I bet it is pretty picked over. I actually drug that big Mulitflora rose bush down off the levee that splits that pond in half and put it down in those concrete chunks to hunker behind. You can barely see it on the left side of your picture. Good hunt and way to go. I think I saw you hunting a couple days. On Wednesday I hunted that big pig farm lake of Talley's with the gazebo in it and I think I saw you drive by with your trailer about 10. It sounded like you guys were volleying down there on that pond off E. On the another day, I was scouting and saw you set up on that lake on the South side of E we were talking about. Good to see you were getting on them. We did ok. We hunted 4Rivers on Tues, then hunted geese around you on Wed.-Fri. mornings. We were thinking of going there on Thursday until we seen you all and figured it might need a rest. On "E" that day we got two geese and a pair of ducks. Thursday we went back there, My friend Brad, Pat and I and never fired a shot. On the above mentioned pond with the levee the windmill blew over night before last when the wind switched from South to North. Did you get anything on Tally's? I did see some of the speclebellies on the trailer pond with the creepy dog. I have never taken a whitefront and wanted one bad so Pat and I fought that mud hole in the howling South wind saturday morning. it was white capping. Only had one goose come in and one flock of ducks. Got the goose and two ducks. Where did you hunt Wednesday? Brad and I heard shooting South West of the E pond. Was that you all? Marty who wants a speck very bad Yep that was us. we hunted zglmn two days in row...you'll probably know what that abbreviation means. We had a couple good hunts there and that's where we shot the specklebellies. We saw a flock of about 10 that didn't work and a flock of 4 that did, we were able to scratch 3 of them. We had a good hunt on Tally's. I think we had 10-12 gadwalls, 1 mallard and 8 geese. If I would've been alone the day I saw you set up on E, I would have trotted out and introduced myself just to say hi, but I had buddies from AR in the truck with me. We'll meet one of these days. The way it's looking, we might end up hunting together one of these mornings without even planning on it. Which, BTW, if you ever pull past somewhere in the dark and you were planning on hunting and I'm already out there with the trailer, come on out and hunt with me. It'd be a great way to meet. I didn't see those specklebellies on Fri., but we were gone by 9 am so the boys could depart on their drive back to AR. There were some at 4R when I hunted there last Tues. I was surprised to see the ones we did shoot. I didn't see them scouting. See ya around Marty. I'll probably do a lap through there on Fri. morning scouting for the weekend. I knew there were a bunch of birds roosting on the "Z" farm. Another big farmer I hunt on are real good friends with "Z" and told me to go talk to them about hunting. Just haven't done that.
