duckydoty Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Hunted the Rock again today with Chief and his son. Hunted real close to the same spot I hunted yesterday. After getting all set up I realized that I had lost the bolt handle on my Winchester sx3, si I was just calling today. Had a group of mallards lock up and come in early but they wanted down out of shooting range way to the left of us. Had some golden eye do the same thing a few minutes later so I had Chief and his son move over to the left about 20 yards. Just as soon as they did that we had 2 mallards lock up and swing right in front of the decoys. If I did not make them move they would have got them birds. Had a couple of geese make a pass but could not get them to fall from the sky either. Had a great time with them two fellas even though we did not get anything. Hope to get to hunt with them again A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
Chief Grey Bear Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Oh you will my friend, you will. CD and I had a blast!! It is just a really sucky year for ducks. Well not so much the ducks but, the duck hunters. We ended up going and doing a little fishing with dad after we left you. We put CD in front running the trolling motor and we just kind of sit back and enjoyed the company. CD scored two bass and I got one. jdmidwest Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 I have worried the same about my SX2, been meaning to get a spare to throw in the go box. Thanks for the reminder. The gun is great, but the friction fit of the bolt handle has always bothered me as a weak spot. The gun is great, but the friction fit of the bolt handle has always bothered me as a weak spot. I had it fall out one other time right after cleaning it. I cleaned it last night and just forgot to double check to see if it was seated properly. Other than that, I love the gun. I will get a couple of spares to put in the gun case to keep me from being on the sidelines again A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. duckydoty Posted January 8, 2012 Author Posted January 8, 2012 I like the Browning set up better. The Winchester sx3 20 gushes are like the Browning. I wonder why they made the 12 guages.friction A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
duckydoty Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 I have worried the same about my SX2, been meaning to get a spare to throw in the go box. Thanks for the reminder. The gun is great, but the friction fit of the bolt handle has always bothered me as a weak spot. Called Winchester on Monday and told them the problem. They sent me at no charge a new bolt handle and it just got here today. The SX3 is back in business. I asked them what a spare would cost and they quoted me $18.75 plus shipping and handling. Think I'm gonna order a couple of more to keep in the gun cases just in case. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
