Members beagle man Posted January 26, 2012 Members Posted January 26, 2012 I pay the fees, gladly, worth every penny to be able to fish when and almost anywhere I want, as far as the fishing docks go, never did like them, never was good enough to catch verry many if any fish from them, use to fish them in Oklahoma a lot when I was young, did not like them eaven then,,,, hope Mutton Creek never goes back to one.
Members charliehorsejigs Posted January 28, 2012 Author Members Posted January 28, 2012 Don't sell the fishing docks short. A lot of people use them because they either don't have a boat, are handicapped and can't bankfish, or need to be inside because of the weather. I have seen a lot of times that the dock at mutton creek was so crowded that there was no room for anyone else to fish. There was also a lot of fellowship there. Seemed like everyone seemed to have a good time just visiting with each other even if the fish were not biting. We always were trying to help each other catch fish by sharing techniques and sometimes lures.
kwall Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I sure enjoy my Lifetime Hunting and Fishing license that I bought in Oklahoma in the early 90's - I am definatly getting my moneys worth, just wish I could get one for Missouri
Members Ranger Dave Posted February 1, 2012 Members Posted February 1, 2012 I also purchased a Lifetime Fishing License in Oklahoma several years ago. It cost $275 but I figured the cost per year would average out around $10 per year based on my age. I understand that Oklahoma did away with the Lifetime permit. Fortunately, I got one for my wife too before they quit. You can get a Lifetime Fishing license in Missouri as well but it isn't worth the price unless you are less than 16 years old. It is $275 for under 16. If you are over 16, it is cheaper to buy the yearly permit since you only have to have a permit til your 62. What kind of marketing stragedy is that? I am 49 years old so I only need to buy 13 more permits. At $11 per permit, that only will cost $143. I think the Lifetime permit would cost me about $175. Of course the yearly permit might go up some but I guess I will take my chances. I did purchase a Lifetime permit for my daughter before she turned 16 and I plan on doing the same for my son before he turns 16. I can't believe that a permit for someone less than 16 is only $275 but the permit for 16 and up is $400. Go figure!
Bill B. Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 You mean 65, don't you? Sixteen more permits. http://mdc.mo.gov/permits/fishing-permit-information
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 That is a good idea to buy them for your kids. I have read about it, but never really considered it. My kids are still a bit young but it may be an option. Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction.
