Had a nice hunt Sunday afternoon. Typical Goldeney were present as was a few Mallards and Gaddies, As I was sitting there though { decoys picked up ) just waiting to watch sunset I heard a old familiar sound SANDHILL CRANES. I kid you not had 15 of them come land on the island i was hunting. Now AR doesnt have a season on them so i couldnt have shot them anyway. BUT Still absoulutly a cool bird to watch even better on the table but oh well... Talk about a mixed up messed up season lol. Sandhills in AR

That's crazy. That they are still North of us, and that you had some come in and land on Beaver. I saw some in a hay pasture down by Tiff City about 3 years ago. I love watching those things and have had quite a few of them land in the snow goose decoys up in the Rainwater basin in Nebraska while hunting spring snows. Watching those things glide down from the stratosphere croaking is a cool sight.

I love messing with the sandhills in Alaska. Looking forward to Sept 1st when they come back in season again up there.

A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!!
