Brian Wise Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Hey guys, Here is a little bit of a tweaked version of Galloup's Articulated Peanut Envy. The first thing you will notice is I am using a keeled hook with will invert this fly without using dumbell eyes (which would be too heavy for this fly.) So that is the main difference. I find myself drifting this fly quite a bit. It has a great sink rate which isn't too fast, but it isn't super bouyant either (like you will see in the underwater footage at the beginning of the video) but still holds that true Galloup movement in the water, with darting motions on all axis'. Hope you guys like it. I will have the Bottoms Up coming soon. My Youtube Channel
DaddyO Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Brian, As always, Nicely Done!! I am loving this series that you are doing. Thanks for sharing them with us. DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
ColdWaterFshr Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Very nice tie. Can I order a dozen each in olive, brown, and black and get them by tomorrow?
Brian Wise Posted January 17, 2012 Author Posted January 17, 2012 Very nice tie. Can I order a dozen each in olive, brown, and black and get them by tomorrow? Package in the mail....I also threw in a couple hundred dollars for you for good measure. My Youtube Channel

I really, really enjoy making these videos. I feel a sense of pressure with the fishing videos....trying to do better than the last, etc, which is a good thing....but with these it's so laid back it's a lot of fun. I have never tied a Bottom's Up and I am going to do it next. Will probably shoot my first attempt and see if I can get lucky. My Youtube Channel
rfd515 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Using grizzly variant saddle hackle is like grabbing the last beer out of the cooler and drinking it in front of everyone. How rude.

That is hilarious.....you should see how much of that stuff I have gone through in the last several months. I am holding on to that stuff like it is pure gold--except when there is a big streamer to be tied with it. My Youtube Channel

I am holding on to that stuff like it is pure gold--except when there is a big streamer to be tied with it. That is rude- especially to 12 year old fashionistas. I used schlappen on all mine and I like it pretty well. Makes them a bit more chunky. I also always use lead Eyes- if I want less weight I go with the steel "presentation eyes" that are lighter. I have not been able to tie anything else since I started tying big streamers like these- Plus, fishing them is a lot of fun. Tying a size 20 midge is torture after tying Galloup-esche streamers. You should do a Michigan style double deceiver- those suckers can be tricky. http://flyinthesouth.com/

Good, that's awesome- keep these coming. Even though I think I know how to tie all these it is great to see how someone else does it. Yours look very fishy by the way. http://flyinthesouth.com/
