Rustic Motel In Rolla

Does anyone know about the Rustic Motel in Rolla? I'm thinking about stay there for a quick getaway. I'm just fishing, and just looking for clean rooms and nice folks.

I have stayed at a couple of motels in Rolla, one near the Sizzlin? on the south side near the end of the strip and the one near the interstate on the north side. Both were ok, but that was 15 years ago. Can't remember the names.

Last few times up, I stayed at St. James at the Quality/Days Inn? on the NW side of the interstate. Good rates, clean rooms, friendly people. Not far from Rolla. If you are fishing, you can hit Meramec or Montauk from there. Take the road to Salem before you get to Meramec off HWY 8, it is about the same distance as from Rolla. Motel in Licking is fine too, located at the intersection of 63 and whatever in Licking.

I've stayed in the days inn at st James and its really good people. The motel in licking I think called sunrise is owned by my dads cousins last time I was there and of course they have always been super nice to us and give us unbeatable prices. I know they are pretty cheap all together though.

I've stayed in the Econo Lodge on kingshighway, nothing special but you can walk to the Shoney's.

I live in Rolla, never stayed at the Rustic. There are quite a few options for hotels. Where are you fishing? River? If it is the lake, you may be better off staying somewhere closer to the lake. I am and hour and half from Lake of the Ozarks which is the closest lake. Let me know if you have any questions since I am local.

I hope to fish all the wild creek areas (Spring, Piney, and Mill) and maybe a trip to Montauk. Looking for something clean and cheap in the middle of it all.

I was looking at them from a thread on the Current or Montauk pages, but the website I found for them was closed down. I figured they weren't open anymore.

No, I think they are still up and running. It is an older place, I have never been inside so I can't help there, but it is right next to a Sonic. Not sure the price, but I would call around. there are some pretty nice places in Rolla that are much more up to date, but I have never heard anything bad about the Rustic though.

I always stay at Zeno's in Rolla. The rooms are clean and they have a great steakhouse on site. Right on I44 south service road.

That's what I'm looking for? How much are the rooms? I couldn't find the rates on their web page.
