FishinCricket Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 If this has been addressed somewhere over the last 11pages then I'm sorry, I did not read that much in 12plus yrs of school. My concern and I am sure someone on here will correct me but, we keep fishing this thing and there won't be a big fish left, you think the fish kill was bad , there are big fish leaving this lake everyday in livewells going home to the hot grease spa. And the real fish killers have not yet started to arrive just wait tell the weather gets nice. I have talked to enough good fisherman to know and have fished it enough to know that anyone can fill the boat on this thing, it's crazy it's fun and it fills livewells. I don't have a problem with anyone fishing it for money or fun, I do have a problem with people fishing it to fill the fridge. I feel we need to get it banned from the lakes all togeather. It's the best BIG FISH LURE I have ever seen it scares me. Just my 2cent worth. Are you a comedian? Cause your "two cents" is hilarious!! cricket.c21.com
Iclass Posted February 16, 2012 Author Posted February 16, 2012 The winner of the BFL had a five fish limit that weighed 32 pounds on Guntersville. Caught on the Rig .... Can the sport get anymore exciting than this? Oh BTW 80 percent of the field threw it.... Might be more exciting if they caught a 40# bag.....
drs7558 Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 This topic is out of control. Eleven pages, its been going on for days. My 2 cents worth? I'll use the A-rig, and I won't feel bad about it. I need all the help I can get. Denny

Addicted to Creeks Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 im just posting in the thread because im the only person on the board who hasnt. so.....hey i guess? Fish always lose by being "got in and dressed." It is best to weigh them while they are in the water. The only really large one I ever caught got away with my leader when I first struck him. He weighed ten pounds. —Charles Dudley Warner
Members Fat Boy Posted February 17, 2012 Members Posted February 17, 2012 FandF I tell you what I'll give you all the live bait you want and all the rods you can rig a 8 hr day, I will take the rig and a 4 hr day I will show you who has caught the most lbs. As I said I fish it, the 1st fish I caught on it was over 7, I just feel that alot of fish will be kept using it, if I'm wrong I will be the 1st to say so and I hope I'm wrong. Men lets don't argue about this lets take care of what we have is all I am saying,
Stump bumper Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Well they could just troll 6 A-Rigs out the back of the boat with 30 baits in the water and I am sure they would catch a ton of fish and have big sacks also...still doesn't make it very sporting Have you EVER seen a striper guide. Come over to Beaver and you will see people paying $250 for half a day fishing like that on 5-10 boats any day of the year. That is where the idea came about for the A-rig(stirper fishermen catching lots of bass not Beaver lake), they have just been using the umbrella for about 25-30 years. Most of the time the catch rate of black bass to stripers is 3:1. These people feel their guides do a great job and come back regularly, to each his own. Then it is time and place, I have seen guides pulling 10 rods past me without a fish and I would be having the best day of my life with jerk baits up close to shore but their clients didn't have the skills to throw a jerk bait so they just sat on the boat and watched me catch fish.

Men lets don't argue about this lets take care of what we have is all I am saying, Lets see your going to give me 8hrs with live bait and your going to take 4hrs with the A-rig. I already know your wrong, 8 hrs with live bait I can put over 200pnds on the boat easily. You will need 4 to 6 bass to beat 1 of my fish. Both WC and I threw the A-rig yesterday for 4 hours for 1 fish. Had I had live bait I would have filled the boat. I think you are putting way to much expecations on this bait. It has its uses and places to be used but is not the great " end all be all " bait. Come summer when the fish go shallow and in the buckbrush I want to see guys throw it in there... Im sure some will try and when the lake comes down next winter ill be out getting lots of free A-Rigs hanging in the brush. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

Has it toppled all forms of government to become Overlord Supreme yet? "All hail King A-Rig!!" I wonder how well it'll work on beddng smallies? cricket.c21.com
