Members Liv2flyfish Posted January 25, 2012 Members Posted January 25, 2012 This month on Liv2flyfish Radio, our guest is Mark Van Patten, Missouri Department of Conservation Stream Coordination Biologist. We talk about Didymo in Missouri streams and the felt sole ban. This a very informative and important issue. It's free at www.liv2flyfish.com and on Itunes. Please spread the word, not the Didymo. Thank you. I am an avid fly fisher. I love fishing the Ozarks and the White River watershed from the spring creeks to the tailwaters.
drew03cmc Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 I realize your commitment, but spamming the exact same post in three threads is a bit excessive. Not wanting to poke at you, just wanting to let you know. Andy
fishinwrench Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Guess you gotta tune in to hear what VanPatten has to say that hasn't already been pounded home. Didy...it isn't here. Didy...it might get here. Didy...let's try (within reason) to keep it away. Van Patten....defines "within reason".
ozark trout fisher Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 I realize your commitment, but spamming the exact same post in three threads is a bit excessive. Not wanting to poke at you, just wanting to let you know. Relax Drew. This site is exactly the sort of place where these types of conservation issue should be discussed. Just because you don't agree with Live2Flyfish's point of view on this doesn't make it spam.
Addicted to Creeks Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 he posted the same link in three threads i believe drews point was he didnt need to start a new thread when the link was in both felt sole ban threads Fish always lose by being "got in and dressed." It is best to weigh them while they are in the water. The only really large one I ever caught got away with my leader when I first struck him. He weighed ten pounds. —Charles Dudley Warner

Thanks for the conplaint, but I will promote my podcast everywhere I can. I am an avid fly fisher. I love fishing the Ozarks and the White River watershed from the spring creeks to the tailwaters.
Addicted to Creeks Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 not complaining, just clarification. Fish always lose by being "got in and dressed." Just because you don't agree with Live2Flyfish's point of view on this doesn't make it spam. I never said I had an issue with him posting it, and I don't mind his view on this. he posted the same link in three threads i believe drews point was he didnt need to start a new thread when the link was in both felt sole ban threads Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner, that is called spamming. Just wanting to make sure everyone has a chance to get informed. Not everybody knows as much as some of you. Thanks for the conplaint, but I will promote my podcast everywhere I can. Well, you could have avoided spamming with the exact same post. I understand that you want everyone to get informed, but most everyone goes to the new content area when they get here anyway to see what is new. They don't need to see the same thing coming up three times in three different threads. That is the definition of spamming. I am sure you and your podcast have the best intentions, but when things are forced in people's faces, they are more apt to turn a blind eye. I have checked it out and it is a very nice piece of information, albeit the same information we have discussed ad nauseum on this forum. One link would have taken care of it plenty well. That is why i said what I said. Andy
ozark trout fisher Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner, that is called spamming. I'll just say that we have different definitions of spam, and leave it at that. Posting a thread with a link to a podcast about didymo on a fishing forum hardly qualifies in my opinion. It's no more spam than me having a link to my blog in my signature.
