Mark Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 OK - I have new waders that have felt booties/socklets that go up about as high as work boots. I wear shoes over the felt booties/socklets, but there is a couple of inches of felt showing over the top of my shoes. Are my waders legal the way I wear them?? My friend tells me the new regs only apply to felt on the bottom of shoes.
eric1978 Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 You sure it's not neoprene? Never heard of what you're describing. Why would there be felt on anything but the soles of boots?
2sheds Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I canoe and wade fish in tennis shoes and soak them in bleach before changing rivers/creeks.. Is that now forbidden ?
Brian Sloss Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 NOt unless you have felt soles on your tennis shoes www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
Chief Grey Bear Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I wade in tennis shoes too. They don't last very long, even without soaking them in bleach. How many uses do you get doing that? I get about 3 yrs or so from mine. I had been getting the Converse Chuck Taylor high tops. Now the strings won't last quite that long. The last time I had to get a pair, I found a pair of Faded Glory that looked just like the CT's at Wally World for $15. They made it to the 3 year mark but that was it. I also like to put some Dr. Scholls in them. Makes a world of difference if you do a lot of wading.
