FishinCricket Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Note to self: DO NOT attempt to negotiate with Mary Agnew. Sounds like you got a nice car, these Buicks really are pretty awesome! cricket.c21.com
exiledguide Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 So you are the reason the weather turned to crap, the James has gone up a foot and my waders leak.........welcome back anyway.
Mark Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I always heard it was a east - west thing for the pronunciation of Missouri. On the east side of the state, it's Missouree, on the west side it's Missourah. No one I know says Missourah.
Al Agnew Posted February 16, 2012 Author Posted February 16, 2012 I always heard it was a east - west thing for the pronunciation of Missouri. On the east side of the state, it's Missouree, on the west side it's Missourah. No one I know says Missourah. That's because you don't know anybody but Ste. Gen County Germans, who have a dialect all their own! All the people in my family who were my parents' age pronounced it "Missourah", and my Grandpa always said stuff like "narr" for narrow, and other Ozarkian words and pronunciations. HIs family came from Kentucky, as did many Ozarkers.
