I've been making them with and without weights. I'm thinking I can add weight to baits if I need to in order to put it where I want it in the water column or add weight to the front if necessary. All this is supposition as I haven't been on the water with them yet and it looks like it will be a few days before I will be.

Right. You can always adjust the weight of the head you are running, or go to something like a belly weighted swimbait hook. Harder part looks like it might be finding plastic. Going to pour some swimmers this weekend during my basketball bye week, if all goes to plan.

If I am going to use five strands of .043 stainless seems I would need a sleeve at least .215 in probably larger but I didn't see any sleeves that large in the Jane's net craft catalog. Any suggestions?

Plastic isn't my problem with what I plan to do and when I plan to do it.

Stainless .045 solid mig wire and stainless tubing that has a perfect inside diameter for a five wire rig.

It will make more than you will ever need for $29.42 plus shipping.

I'm using this method and it works great!

you should be able to get that wire at your local auto parts store. is that the smallest possible diameter to use? would like to have it a little thinner and lighter for fishing the flats and shallow pea gravel pre spawn without running right on the bottom i know i can somewhat control the weight with the baits i put on it but the rig itself has to weigh at least half an ounce maybe more it looks like

what kind of fastners are they using on http://fishingskirts..._image&pID=1127

Cable crimps or just tubing cut to the right length and used as a cable crimp. I really like how you can slide the head of a swim bait right over the end of the harness. I made half a dozen yesterday in about 30 mins. Very easy to make.

Think the wire might be too heavy. I have some up to 325# test, well over the 0.043, that I use on occasion for straight shafts. Tried it a bit on the rig, and did not care for it.

Barlow's has some bigger sleeves, perhaps also some saltwater supply places.
