jeb Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Hey Fellas! Just wanted to let you know that Hook Line and Sinker in Rogers/Bentonville has all the goods for the A rig. We have a variety of A rigs, swimbaits, and jigheads all in stock. Good Fishing! I was going to mention that, too. HLS has a great selection of A-rigs. I think I saw some as low as $9.99 when I was in the Rogers store the other day. And they have some great swimbaits for them too, like the Keitechs. Those guys are local and bend over backwards to make the customer happy. Please consider throwing some of that tackle money their way. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Feathers and Fins Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 Jeb Bought me a few of the 9$ A-rigs really liked the fact they had them in two sizes I like the smaller size it will be perfect for using smaller baits. Just finished rigging up 9 diffrent rigs. Now if they will clear the roads I will go play in Prairie Creek this afternoon. But I just took a drive and doesnt look good so far, but what was I expecting from Ardot... Heck Rogers, Sprindale and F-ville still had school. Hope for the kids sake it doesnt get wourse. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
jeb Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I hate hauling my boat in snowy crap like this. It's only like a 1/4 mile down the hill to where I put in, but still a mess. Hope you get out there! John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Stump bumper Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I'm sorry guys. I do NOT need a reason to add another rod and reel. Believe me, an A rig would destroy me or my rod/reel if I tried to fish it on the gear I have now. I do not flip. I do not swim bait. I do not striper fish. I enjoy fishing jigs less than 1/2 ounce. It may be the best thing since sliced bread, but this too shall pass. Does anyone remember the River Runt or the Cisco Kid? RPS I don't think of the Arig like a lure that will come and go but more as a type of fishing like top water, C-rig, texas rig or drop shot. I don't throw a C-rig very often, live by a drop shot and I know people who won't drop shot. I think that the A-rig fever will drop off as people loose confidence due to throwing for short periods of time in the wrong place and wrong time then catching fish on something else. But just like a drop shot fished on a flipping stick you also have to have a proper set up and some people will wear themselves out with light rods. But I think this will stay around as long as the Texas rigged worm and fished as much with just as many variations. I know you like to chase the Walleyes and if were to back troll one during generation down past Beaver town this time of year with five flutter spoons or 3in swimbaits(it is Arkansas and legal) I think you would have a new friend.
Martin Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 RPS: I'm going to pull one with leadcore when the time is right. Speed / depth will be the deciding factor on that deal. It's gota to be just fast enough to make everything wiggle but not so fast as to run too shallow.....Kind of depends on where I tell the walleyes to be that day. lol
Martin Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Rps: I have a flippin' rod I'll gladly loan you.....Just to get a feel ya know. Just PM me on either forum.
