Dutch Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 I was talking to a freind who sells some stuff on Ebay. Some where in his dealings, he said he came across a guy in Lebanon, MO who has sold 2,900 reconditioned reels which he purchased at the outlet.
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 sold 2,900 reconditioned reels which he purchased at the outlet. I've looked at a lot of reels there, and I doubt they are reconditioned, more like they work. I'm sure there are some good ones in the bunch, but there are often a lot of the lower end BPS reels at a price that wouldn't even allow lubing. At least thats my opinion of them. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
RSBreth Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 It's funny, I posted today then left and went up there. (had business in Springfield anyway) There are several St. Croix Premier 4 piece fly rods, most were 9' 8 weight, for 79.99. Not bad, the tips weren't broken, just no bag or tube. Must have been displays. Lots of last years models of spinning reels, like was said, mostly lower end, but I did see several Penn saltwater reels that are normally 100$or so for 40$.
Dutch Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 If you know what you are doing and at what you are looking, you can get some really good buys. A couple of my friends live close and go there nearly every day to look for bargains. I buy quite a bit of clothes and shoes on sale there but never rods and reels.
